Oh happy weekend!

Mick, my parents cat, helps me to show off my braided head band, I know it looks like I did it myself right?  So much easier to just pop it in!  Compliments of Ulta!

Such a beautiful and wonderful weekend!  After a super good at home workout on Friday night at, mind you at midnight, Saturday the boyfriend and I were off and running to Hood River to watch a Kiteboarding Competition that was raising money for cancer.  It was a relaxing day in the sun for us, and a lot of work for the guys and gals doing laps out on the river!  Live band and lots of people watching made the day fun.
The boyfriend took some kiteboarding lessons a couple of weeks ago and I had the pleasure of watching (from the shore of course).  It isn't easy!  Some of these kiteboarders yesterday were out there six hours!!!

Most Sundays for me are for baking!  Well, after sleeping in a bit, going to church with my honey, and maybe a farmers market....all of which I did this Sunday!  Usually I try and whip up some new recipes that I have never done before.  This Sunday I got through two new ones and one older homemade recipe that I adore...homemade tomato sauce.  But today was even more special because dad was in the kitchen with me.  We each both made a strawberry pie from fresh local strawberries picked yesterday!  I must say, this pie blows any other pie I have ever had in my entire life out the window!  It was simply gorgeous in my mouth!  Lets see if I can get your juices flowing by tantalizing you with some photos...

Gorgeous huh?  Well the other yummy thing I wanted to try out this weekend was Coconut Chicken.  I have been on the hugest coconut and pineapple kick over the last couple of days.  At the market this morning I also found a coconut pineapple muffin, oh my gooooooodnessss, I think I'll have to find a way to make my own recipe of that too.  The chicken will be on the dinner menu tomorrow evening after a good workout of course so I'll let you know how it goes!

I hope all of your weekends were super duper spectacular!  Don't forget to do something good for yourself come tomorrow (MONDAY) because we all know Mondays are hard!!!!

Friday night?

It's friday evening, the sun is out here in Portland, Oregon yet there is a cool breeze making it seem more spring than summer!  After a little house cleaning and a stop at the store for a new bottle of a very interesting wine...get this black rasberry wine from Korea!  I know, crazy right?  It was truelly calling my name and well, I answered.  It is chilling as I type away here.  I'm not sure how chilled it will become before I open it's preciousness up...but I am trying  :0)

So what are the plans for a Friday night in the city, country, town, er ah...farm?  It will be a quiet one for me.  Hand washing the convertible, maybe a BBQ with family and of course my first post of this blog!  There are so many inspiring and modivating women out there publishing blogs, teaching, creating, photographing and sharing their beloved lives.  It is just scrumptious!  I have so many favorites, of which I will soon place as ones I'm following, yes as soon as I can figure out how to do that!

So I'm a newbie here, using Blogger and if anyone has any tips they want to share, I'm all ears.  I'm stoked to be entering into this very creative, carefree journey of blogging and I hope to get to know many of you!  I also hope that I am able to inspire, modivate and teach to you guys what I know (whateva that may be these days) and maybe we can make this world a better place because of it.

So get your Friday evenings started (or ended) wherever you may be and keep posted for pictures of my outfit finds, cooking journeys, thoughful writings, photography and anything else my little heart wants to share!
